Two words you either love and live for or absolutely hate: working out. Going to the gym is definitely not for everyone, but for some of us it is a way to sweat out all of those frustrations that are built up through school, relationships, and just life in general. Even on those days when you are really not feeling it, once you finish your last set you already feel a million times better. One of the things that make going to the gym easier for me is bringing my best friend Anna. Bringing someone with you and motivating each other is a great way to make exercising a habit.
This week, I thought I would share with you guys my favorite ab workouts that I try to do at least four times a week. When we are not doing our ab combo, we are using the Kayla Itsines app. I am no where near “the perfect body”, but these exercises have helped Anna and I get noticeably stronger cores.

First, we start out with 15 reps of the ab roller.

Second, we do 15 reps of Russian twists with 15 lbs of weights.

Third, we do 40 reps (20 per side) of the mountain climber.

Fourth, we do this move we learned from Kayla Itsines called the straight leg jackknife

Fifth, we do 30 flutter kicks (15 per side…we had a really hard time making these pictures serious).

Lastly, we hold in plank position for 1 minute.
After we complete these sixth exercises, we repeat them all 3-4 times. Once we have finished those circuits, we always do some sort of cardio. On a daily basis we usually go for a 3-4 mile run.
