As many of you know, living in a small town is not easy. Running into everyone and their mother is typically what happens on a daily basis. This can sometimes get in the way of how people choose to dress. I know multiple girls from high schools around my town that would not wear those funky pants their mom got them for their birthday just because that one girl who sat across them at lunch would judge.

Something I struggle with personally, is looking for approval in other people and I am I starting to learn that it is impossible to please everyone. Just do and wear what makes you happy. I know you probably hear that a lot, but when it comes to style and expressing yourself, it so important to simply not care.

People are always going to have something to say, so you may as well give them something to talk about. If style is something that is truly important to you, show it off no matter how out there you think it is. One of my biggest inspirations once told me, “Life is too short, wear the red lipstick”.

The outfit I am in is something you probably would not see anyone from around my town wearing. However, I love the hat and the wide leg pants. Its different, but it makes me happy so I am wearing it.

Yes of course the dos and donts of fashion are important, but there would be no such thing as fashion without style. Style is something that YOU create for yourself and there is no rule book for that. Oscar de la Renta said it best, “Fashion is a trend. Style lives within a person”.
